CANTON -- Lake Placid Soccer Centre will host a chance to meet Kristine Lilly on the Sandy MacAllaster Field at St. Lawrence University at 4 p.m. this Sunday.

Lilly will sign autographs for youth soccer players and fans of all ages.

SLU Head Men’s Soccer Coach Bob Durocher said, “This is a great moment for North Country soccer and all people interested in sport. Kristine was recently elected to the United States Olympic Hall of Fame and Kristine represents a great example for all our kids and families.”

Lilly won two FIFA World Championships and two Olympic Summer Gold medals over her career with the US Women’s National team and was captain. She scored 130 goals while playing 352 international games for the USA. While a player for the North Carolina Tar Heels she was a four time NCAA Women Championship leader and the winner of the top female soccer award in 1991, the Herman Trophy.

Lilly will attend a youth soccer coaches course at St. Lawrence University July 21-22.

“This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for young soccer players, coaches, parents and our soccer campers from Northern NY and lower Canada to meet one of the all-time greats of global soccer,” according to Camp Director Mike McGlynn.

Sunday’s event will allow young soccer players to meet Kristine and obtain an autograph card.
