KTX to play funk, R&B and pop tunes Thursday at Norwood Village Green Concert Series

NORWOOD -- The Norwood Village Green Concert Series presents KTX Thursday, June 16, at 7 p.m.

KTX plays a variety of music along the funk, R&B and pop genres across many decades. “If it grooves, we want to play it,” the band says.

Artists they like to play include Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind & Fire, Michael Jackson, and Bruno Mars.

The play original music too.

Marcus Alvarez plays drums, runs sound, and takes care of the band’s social media. Kyle Tupper is on keys and vocals and helps organize and arrange their tunes. Jon Dufore plays guitar/bass and is in charge of booking and organizing the band as a whole."

Before KTX hits the stage, Tom Chapin will entertain audiences June 9 at 7 p.m. The three-time Grammy Award winner is a singer, songwriter and guitarist.

Looking ahead, on Sunday, June 19, the concert series presents a double bill with American String Circus, a student band from SLU performing traditional string band music, and Greg Cornell and the Cornell Brothers, led by SLU alumnus Greg Cornell performing original compositions. The Cornell Brothers are a Brooklyn-based roots music quartet.

The concert begins at 6 pm.

Admission is free but there is a “pass the bucket.”
