POTSDAM -- The St. Lawrence County Arts Council will soon offer Kripalu and Kundalini Yoga classes in Clarkson University’s downtown Snell Hall.
Kundalini Yoga, taught by Gurumantra Kaur, exercises the mind, body and spirit. The intensive practice enables students to reach a higher state of awareness, emotional stability, and strength by using pranayama, kriyas, meditation, bhandas, mudras, mantras and visualization techniques. Participants should wear comfortable clothing, bring a yoga mat, bottled water, and a cushion and/or blanket if desired. Classes will take place Tuesdays, May 17 - June 7 from 7:15 - 8:45 p.m. at $44 and Fridays, May 27 - June 10 from 8 – 9:30 a.m. at $33.
Yoga Break with Monique Christensen is designed to increase \mental focus, strength, balance, stamina, flexibility, relieve stress, and relax. The mindful, non-competitive activity emphasizes the mind-body connection through movement, breathing and meditation. Bring water and yoga mat, and wear comfortable clothing. Offered Mondays, May 23 - June 27 from noon – 1 p.m. at $46 and Thursdays, May 26 - June 30 from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. at $46.
