CANTON -- The Celtic Knot, 17 Main St., will hold knit-in to support breast cancer survivors Oct. 12, from 7 to 9 p.m.
The project planned for the evening will be “Knitted Knockers” another form of prosthetic for those who have undergone mastectomies, lumpectomies and radiation, and/or are undergoing reconstruction.
Generally, the Knockers are made out of a soft cotton yarn and are much more light weight and comfortable for women.
Patterns and a 20 percent discount (off all approved yarns) will be made available for all who attend.
There will be refreshments from Natures Storehouse and other local vendors, door prizes, games and knitting help for anyone who needs it.
Oct. 12 will also be the kickoff for the “Knocker Knockout.”
In the hopes of making a large donation to our local cancer centers, The Celtic Knot will offer a $35 gift certificate to whomever donates the most Knockers to the cause.
