CANTON – The Canton Recreation Department’s fall trail series will continue Oct. 20 with a trek along Kip Trail from 4-5 p.m.
Hikers will meet in the gravel parking lot of the Wachtmeister Field Station [first left after crossing the wooden bridge on Park Street].
Canton Recreation is partnering with Nature Up North to provide a family friendly event to introduce local residents to the town’s and village’s extensive local trail system.
This event will include the opportunity to participate in the Community Ash Tree Survey, a new initiative from Nature Up North, which addresses concerns about emerald ash borer, an invasive insect expected to impact ash trees in the near future.
The group will work together to survey ash trees along the Kip Trail. For more information, call recreation director Caitlin Boreyko at 315-386-3992.
