MASSENA -- A car seat checkup will take place on Wednesday, June 16 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Massena Fire Station, 34 Andrews St.

Child passenger safety technicians will be on hand to help parents choose an appropriate seat for their children’s age and weight, and to show parents how to properly adjust and secure the seat. If possible, adults should bring the car seat instructions and vehicle owner’s manual with them. Children should be present to ensure proper fit of the car seat harness.

The event is sponsored by the North Country Child Passenger Safety Coalition, the St. Lawrence County Traffic Safety Program, the New York State Police, and the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee. Although there is no charge for the service, donations are accepted. Those with questions can contact the St. Lawrence County Traffic Safety Program at 379-2306.
