Juried art exhibit opens Sept. 23 at Frederic Remington in Ogdensburg

OGDENSBURG — The 2017 International Juried Art Exhibit at Frederic Remington Art Museum, 303 Washington St., will be displayed from Sept. 23-Jan. 14.

The public is invited to attend the opening reception Saturday, Sept. 23, from 2- 4 p.m., in the Richard E. Winter and Torrey Family galleries.

Artists with work on display at the gallery include Barre Hall and Thomas Robarge, both of Ogdensburg; Sharon H. J. Cheng and Catherine LaPointe Vollmer, both of Potsdam; Ronald Larsen and Melissa Schulenberg, both of Canton; Suzanne Langelier-Lebeda and Raymond Whalen, both of South Colton; and Paul N. Pedersen, Hermon;

Along with other New York residents, Hope Marshall, and Christine Tisa, both of Clayton; Valerie Patterson, Ken Wiley and Eleanor Sweeney, all of Saranac Lake; Diane Leifheit, Gabriels; Penny Kring, Redwood; Aaron Hall, Dexter; Gregg Fedchak, Boonville; John Elwood Cook, Wellesley Island; Gary Larsen and Janet Marie Yeates, both of Northville; Kimberly Pitzrick, Baldwinsville; and Marina Loew, Dryden;

And, from Ontario, Jayne Couch Molony, Burritt's Rapids; Bruce Millen, Kingston; Don Munz, Kemptville; Sylvie Sabourin, Stittsville; Mary Ann Varley, Ottawa; along with Daniel Cogné of Gatineau, QC.

Many of the works will be for sale. One third of the proceeds benefit the Frederic Remington Art Museum, and two thirds go to the artist. The exhibit will have an online gallery at www.fredericremington.org.

The museum has offered the International Juried Art Exhibit biannually since 2001. It is the first of three regular juried exhibits, scheduled on opposite year from the NYS Juried Art Exhibit.
