CANTON The public is invited to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the passage of the Fair Housing Act at screenings of several short films in the Romer Room of the United Universalist Church on Main Street on Thursday, April 26 at 7 p.m.
The films, concerning housing discrimination, are “A Matter of Place,” “A House Divided” and “Brick by Brick: A Civil Rights Story.”
The events are free and open to the public.
After each showing, members of the St. Lawrence County Fair Housing Task Force will lead discussions about Fair Housing issues, about the Civil Rights era in our country’s history that lead to the passage of the Fair Housing Act.
