GOUVERNEUR -- The St. James School will hold a “Jazz Up the Night” jazz concert and silent auction Saturday, Feb. 2 to benefit a student trip to Europe.

The concert will feature the high school jazz band as well as members of the select choir. Students participating in the trip will be featured in the concert and will also serve as hosts and hostesses at the event, as well as serving coffee and a complimentary dessert.

A silent auction of items including gourmet food, art, gift certificates and theme baskets will also be featured. Winners of the auction will be announced at the end of the evening.

The concert will begin at 7 p.m. Pre-sale tickets will be $10, while tickets purchased at the door will be $15.

The 10-day European trip, chaperoned by five teachers and two parents, will include visits to London, Paris, Versailles, Florence, Rome and Vatican City for 18 high school students. Each traveler must pay for their own trip, with expenses offset by fundraising events such as the jazz night.
