Jay Ungar and Molly Mason perform at Edwards Opera House Saturday

EDWARDS -- The Edwards Opera House, located on the second floor of 161 Main St., will present the Heart and Soul of American Roots Music, featuring Jay Ungar and Molly Mason, Saturday Oct. 6 at 7 p.m.

Ungar and Mason won international acclaim after Ken Burns' “The Civil War” hit the airwaves. The soundtrack won a Grammy and Ashokan Farewell, composed by Unger, was nominated for an Emmy.

The duo’s musical style includes Appalachian melodies, Cajun and Celtic fiddle tunes, Civil War classics, songs from the golden age of swing and country, waltzes, and original works.

Tickets are $20.00 in advance and $22.00 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at Wood Family Grocery and Baker's Grocery in Edwards; The Oswegatchie Coffee Company in Gouverneur; The Brewer Bookstore in Canton; Northern Music and Video in Potsdam; or by mail at Edwards Arts Council, Inc., P.O.
