POTSDAM – A local veteran in need of help to adapt his house for handicapped accessibility will be the beneficiary of a jamboree Saturday, Sept. 10 at AMVETS Post 282, 6771 US Highway 11.

All proceeds from the jamboree will benefit the family of Jim Higgins, a local veteran and first responder of both Madrid and Canton rescue squads.

The jamboree will begin at 1 p.m. with live music provided by DJ Les LeFrancois, the bands Dragonflii Effect 3, and Jack Bellows.

There will be food, an auction and a 50/50 raffle.

Entry fee for the jamboree is $5; the bar at AMVETS will be available. This event is open to the public.
