Jamboree benefits Edwards cancer victim Feb. 2

PIERREPONT -- A jamboree and spaghetti dinner will be held to benefit Tom Hooper.

Hooper, an Edwards resident, has been diagnosed with stage three lung cancer. After taking early retirement from St. Lawrence University Hooper is without insurance.

The jamboree will be held Feb. 2 from 1 to 8 p.m. at the Pierrepont fire hall. The proceeds will be used to cover his traveling expenses for chemotherapy and radiation, as well as to offset medical expenses.

The dinner will be $6 per person or $10 per couple, with a discounted rate of $3 for kids age five to 12. Those under age five will eat free. Families will eat for $20.

Entertainment will include Dragnfly, Sudden Impact with Lacey Rae, Russ Bridge, Paparazzi Scandal and an Evolution "Reunion." Bob Hughes will provide sound. Any other musicians wishing to participate may bring an instrument along.

A 50/50 raffle and a raffle for a chance to win a two-night stay at The Inn at Whiteface will also be held.
