CANTON -- An interfaith gathering of unity and compassion will be held on the front lawn of the Unitarian Universalist Church, 3 1/2 East Main St. on Saturday, Nov. 3, at 2 p.m. The gathering will move into the church in case of inclement weather.

"In the aftermath of the Tree of Life synagogue shooting (in Pittsburgh, Penn.), pipe-bombs targeting select political leaders, and the senseless murder of two people in Kentucky for simply being black, we want to demonstrate the love, the faith, and the hope we share. We can choose unity and love over fear and division," church officials wrote in an announcement.

All are welcome to join leaders and speakers of many faiths in this unity gathering.
