CANTON -- The Unitarian Universalist Church is hosting a Nov. 11 discussion about local inequality called “Inequalities in the North Country: A Community Roundtable.”
It will be at the church, 3 1/2 Main Street, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
The church’s Social Action Committee is focusing on inequalities in the North Country as its theme for discussion and action this year.
“We seek to become more informed about the topic, to make fruitful connections among the several groups addressing an issue, and to identify specific projects to work on,” said Pat Alden, a member of the committee and one of the roundtable organizers. "This roundtable will focus on food security and housing; future discussions will be on topics related to employment and access to health care."
Participants in the November 11 roundtable discussion will be St. Lawrence County Social Services Commissioner Chris Rediehs, Potsdam Neighborhood Center director Daisy Cox, GardenShare board member Maria Corse, St. Lawrence County planner John Tenbusch and St. Lawrence County Community Development Program executive director Norma Cary.
