POTSDAM -- Hot cocoa, gelato and sorbetto are on the tasting table this Thursday, Nov. 20, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Potsdam Food Co-op., 24 Elm St.
From Cissé Trading Company comes a smooth, creamy, sweet beverage made with Fair- Traded cocoa, milk chocolate chips, and Indonesian vanilla bean. It will be served and prepared with almond milk and it can be topped off with Dandies vegan marshmallows.
The marshmallows are made without corn syrup, gelatin, or artificial colors or flavors.
Also on the table are Gelatos and Sorbettos from Gelato Fiasco. Gelato is a style of ice cream dating back several centuries to Italy. The primary ingredient is milk, not cream, which gives it a softer dairy profile allowing flavors to come through more strongly. Five flavors will be showcased including Maine Wild Blueberry Crisp, Peanut Butter Stracciatella, and Caramel Sea Salt.
Sorbetto flavors being highlighted: Strawberry Balsamic, and Dark Chocolate Noir.
