Horse and carriage rides, music, games, free movie, hockey game planned at St. Lawrence University winter celebration Jan. 27

CANTON -- A weekend full of activities in celebration of winter will begin Friday, Jan. 27, at St. Lawrence University.

The festivities kick off in earnest with the Winter Weekend Classic Men’s Hockey game between the Skating Saints and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). The game starts at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 27, at Appleton Arena. Men’s hockey will also play Union College at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 28.

On Saturday, families with children of all ages can enjoy the Winter Carnival from 1-4 p.m. in the Sullivan Student Center. There will be a variety of children’s activities inside plus horse and carriage rides outside. There also will be an a cappella concert at 8 p.m. Saturday in the Sullivan Student Center’s Winston Room. And, at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29, “The Chronicles of Narnia” will be shown in the Sullivan Student Center’s Winston Room.

The events are free and open to the public. Parking is available at the Brewer Bookstore, Lot E on Park Street next to the bookstore, and Lot H across from Griffiths Arts Center.
