CANTON – Festive floral arrangements, fabulous refreshments and fanciful holiday music will fill the Silas Wright House when friends and neighbors gather at 3 E. Main St., for the St. Lawrence County Historical Association's Holiday Events.
The SLCHA's Annual Holiday Open House will be held on Friday, Dec. 3 from 4 to 8 p.m. and the Holiday Tea will be held on Sunday, Dec. 5 from 1 to 4 p.m. Both events are free and open to the public.
The Holiday Open House will include live seasonal music beginning at 4:30 p.m. with Vocal Jazz, a group from Hugh C. Williams High School, led by Kimberly Busch. At 5:30 p.m. the Northwinds ensemble will play, followed by the Noteworthy Handbell Choir at 6:30 p.m.
The Canton Garden Club will be honored at the Holiday Open House for their roughly 35 years of providing floral arrangements for the Silas Wright House, as well as decorating the Victorian Christmas trees for the SLCHA.
The Canton Garden Club will be publicly recognized at 6:15 p.m. in the association's County Gallery and all garden club members are encouraged to attend.
The Holiday Tea is an opportunity to view the Victorian holiday atmosphere in the Silas Wright House during daylight hours; enjoy tea, fine refreshments, holiday music and good conversation.
The Silas Wright House will remain decorated for the holidays through Saturday, Dec. 18.
