RUSSELL – As part of the Russell Arsenal Heritage Weekend, there will be a performance of the History and Music of 1812 on Sept. 22 at 7 p.m at the Russell Opera House.
Robin Duncan is directing.
The performance will include a musical greeting, information about the Dekalb Military Road by historian Brian Thompson, and a history of the Russell Arsenal by Sally Hartman, of the Origin of Forsyth’s Rifles, Inc.
There will be a firing of arms, ladies clothing, social and dance etiquette, a 50/50 raffle, and refreshments.
The opera house is located in the Russell Town Hall.
