CANTON -- Historical changes in the lives of local women will be on tap for the next free brown bag lunch program at the St. Lawrence County Historical Association.

The talk will discuss the 1917 election that granted women the right to vote in New York state, along with the 19th amendment to the United States Constitution in 1920.

The brown bag lunch will celebrate women’s history month at the association, located at the Silas Wright House, 3 East Main St, March 28 at noon.

A panel discussion, moderated by Linda Casserly, Canton Town and Village Historian, will be featured.

Historical photographs of Canton reproduced by Dennis Barr will be on exhibit during the program.

Bring a lunch. Dessert and a drink will be provided by the association.
