CANTON -- When the St. Lawrence Seaway was built, the shoreline on both sides of the river was flooded.

Learn more about the foundations and structures still visible underwater near Waddington when Rick Rutkowski speaks at the SLCHA’s next Patricia Harrington Carson Brown Bag Lunch Series at noon on Thursday, Jan. 21 at the St. Lawrence County Historical Association at the Silas Wright House, 3 East Main St.

Admission is free. People should bring their own lunches. The association will provide dessert.

Speaker Rick Rutkowski was raised on the St. Lawrence River and spent fifteen years working for the railroad. His knowledge of the underwater portions of Waddington developed as a combination of his interest in railroads and diving.
