COLTON – The next two Historic North Country Village Talk & Walks will take place this month in Colton and DeKalb.
The Colton Talk & Walk, co-sponsored by the Colton Historical Society, will meet at the Colton Museum, 96 Main St., Colton, at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 16, where Mary Jane Watson will give a short talk and then lead the group on a walking tour of Main Street and Riverside Drive.
They will then return to the museum for a showing of a film about the Floating Islands that once populated Higley Flow.
On Saturday, July 21, the DeKalb Talk & Walk will be led by town historian Bryan Thompson. The walkers will meet at 1 p.m. at the Old DeKalb Methodist Church, 3719 County Route 17, DeKalb Junction, and then take a tour of Old DeKalb.
Both programs will be approximately an hour and a half long, and are free and open to the public.
