COLTON -- The Higley Hundred bicycle tour, to benefit the Friends of Higley Flow State Park, is set for Saturday, Sept. 12.
The ride will follow an Adirondack foothills route taking riders along quiet paved country roads on one of two loop choices, of 31 or 62 miles.
There will be cue sheet and maps at the Higley Flow Park Lodge at 8 a.m. The longer ride leaves the lodge at 8:30 a.m., the shorter at 10 a.m.
In addition to the written directions there will be markings on the shoulder of the road to indicate the route.
Sag wagons are provided and a buffet barbecue follow the event from 1 to 3:30 p.m.
Tee shirts are available to those registering before Sept. 1. Registration forms are available at The Treadmill, 55 Market St.; may be printed from the higleyfriends.org website; or may be completed online at www.bikereg.com/higley-hundred.
This is the primary fundraiser for the group, who were instrumental in the construction of the lodge as well as supporting park programs, and in the winter season providing trail maintenance and grooming for the cross country ski and snowshoe trails.
