CANTON -- St. Lawrence University’s Department of Government will host Henrietta Jordan, former member of the Vermont House of Representatives and health care advocate, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, in Hepburn Hall room 218. The event is free and open to the public.
Jordan’s presentation, titled “Repealing Affordable Healthcare: How It Will Impact YOU!” will explore the changes that are being proposed by the U.S. Congress and the Trump Administration and how they might affect individuals and families.
Before settling in Keene Valley in 2002, Jordan had a long and wide-ranging career in human services, during which she advocated for Vermont’s universal health care program for children and, later, Vermont’s Universal Health Care act.
She continues to advocate for national universal healthcare insurance and believes that everyone needs to understand what could happen as the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, is repealed and replaced.
