Healthy Living Festival takes place in Canton today with bounce houses for kids and health screenings for adults

CANTON -- Community Broadcasters and Fidelis Care are hosting the 2013 Healthy Living Festival today from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Appleton Arena at St. Lawrence University.

Admission is free.

Bounce houses, crafts and games will be offered for children in the Cultivating Healthy Communities Kidz Fun Zone.

Visit the Canton-Potsdam Hospital booths for free bone density, blood pressure, and glaucomas screenings. Talk to representatives from the Center for Cancer Care, Lifeline, Sleep Lab, Behavioral Health, and Physical Rehabilitation.

Members of the CPH Physical Rehabilitation team will offer flexibility assessments and strengthening techniques. Volunteer Services will be giving away free door prizes every hour. And for those interested in a career in health care, a member of CPH Human Resources will be on site to meet with you.

Claxton-Hepburn will provide free health screenings including blood pressure, body mass index, cholesterol and glucose. Stop by their booth for free giveaways. The Richard E. Winter Cancer Treatment Center will showcase their state-of-the-art facility and will have water bottles for the walkers.

The Kids Fun Zone will feature free Bounce Houses for the kids, courtesy of Seaway Valley Jumpers, free balloons and other activities.
