PYRITES -- The “Hart’s Falls Celebration and Clean-Up Day” is set for Oct. 25, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Hart’s Falls is located a mile south of Pyrites, at the junction of Town Line Road and the Pyrites-Russell Road.
The St. Lawrence Land Trust is extending an invitation to the public to celebrate the recent designation of the Hart’s Falls property, also known as Flat Rocks, as a conservation preserve open to the public. This event is intended to be a cleanup day, followed by a picnic. Bring weather appropriate work clothes and a packed lunch.
Directions: From Canton: Head south out of Canton on Co Rt. 27 / Park Street for 2 miles. At the four way stop, turn right onto Co Rt. 25 / Canton – Russell Road, and drive for 3.3 miles. Turn right onto Town Line Road (right before the sign for the Town of Russell, the road sign is missing), and travel to end. Make a left onto the Pyrites – Russell road, and within 100 feet, Hart’s Falls will be on your right, marked by St. Lawrence Land Trust signs.
