HARRISVILLE -- The Harrisville Volunteer Fire Department is hosting its 13th northern pike and trout ice fishing derby on Feb. 21 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Fishing will be on Lake Bonaparte.
Registration begins at the fire hall at 4 a.m.
Those signed up in advance must stop by to get their tags.
Weigh-in station is on the north shore and prizes will be given at Sand Bay.
Entry fee is $25 per person. There is an extra $10 for the trout derby.
Children under age 12 are $5 and will compete for perch only.
Total payout is $6,400, based on 1,000 entries.
First prize is $500, second is $200 and third is $100. Other prizes include ice augers and shanties.
There will also be a giant 50/50 raffle and food will be available at the weigh-in.
Entry forms can be picked up at the Trackside Tavern, the Village Inn in Harrisville, Marshey Road Trapline Supplies, Harrisville Rod and Gun Club, TNT Tackle and Sports and Bonaparte Wine and Spirits.
