POTSDAM -- Hank Williams Tribute artist David Church and his wife Terri have been made honorary members of Potsdam's Hankfest Charity group, according to Gregory Bouchard who heads the non-profit organization.

David Church is considered one of the best Hank Williams Tribute artists, but he also plays original music.

Terri Church has received accolades for her Patsy Cline renditions, but also writes and sings her own music.

David and Terri Church are both touring artists who play all over the United States.

Bouchard says support from the Ohio-based artists is an exciting development for the local charity group.

The seventh annual Hankfest event will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday Aug. 11 from 1-5 p.m. at Ives Park.

The BirthPlace at Canton-Potsdam Hospital will benefit from donations collected. Not only is there a great line up of musical acts but Hankfest also offers door prizes, raffles, and kids games. Craft and other vendors have been added this year. The Rescue Squad will be on hand at 2:30 p.m. for tours of the squad vehicle.

The musical line up this year includes: Oshier Country, Troy O’Brien, Classic Country, Country Percussion Group, and Larry Holly.

The event provides country music in the gazebo in Ives Park in and is family friendly. Rosie’s Hawg Dogs and Scoop’s will offer concessions.

The Official Potsdam Charity Hankfest Group was founded by current President Gregory Bouchard. The group was formed for the express purpose of hosting an annual country music festival in honor of Hank Williams Sr. and to fundraise for a local charity or non-profit organization.

Anyone interested in volunteering, setting up as a vendor, or becoming asponsor of this event, should visit at www.hankfest43.webs.com or call 244-2129.
