PARISHVILLE – A gunshow and a five-mile walkathon take place in Parishville this weekend.
The Parishville Sportsmen's Club will host its 12th annual Fall Gun Show Sept. 15 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sept. 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Firemen's Field. Admission is $3 per person, children under 12 may enter at no charge. Anyone under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Refreshments will be sold. Breakfast will be served from 7 to 10 a.m. both days. More info: 244-0519.
Meanwhile, the Amvets Auxiliary at Post 265 sponsors a five-mile walkathon Saturday, Sept. 15, to benefit the Potsdam Animal Shelter and Paws With a Cause, a program providing dogs to handicapped people.
Registration begins at 9 a.m. at the post, 5 Catherine St., with a fee of $10 per walker, or sponsor sheets may be picked up at the post or from any auxiliary member.
The walk begins at 9:30. T-shirts go to the first 50 walkers.
There will be snacks and prizes after the walk.
