POTSDAM – Renowned guitarist Paul Meyers will host a guitar workshop and concert this March at the St. Lawrence County Arts Council.
The workshop will offer four hours of instruction for basic to intermediate level guitar players; reading music is not required.
Students will meet Tuesday, March 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, March 24 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
The workshop will focus on the CAGED system (referring to the C, A, G, E, and D chord forms) and demonstrate how the five forms allow you to play chords, arpeggios, scales and melodies anywhere on the fingerboard.
The workshop is $40 per student, and pre-registration is required. Contact the council at 265-6860 or www.slcartscouncil.org.
Following the conclusion of Saturday’s workshop, Meyers will present a concert of guitar music starting at 6 p.m.
Admission is $15 per person.
Both the workshop and the concert will be held in room 230 of Downtown Snell Hall, 41 Elm St.
