MASSENA -- Guided hikes and snowshoe adventures are offered weekends this month, sponsored by Friends of the Nature Center in Massena, on the Nature Center trails at Moses State Park.
These outings will be led by Program Specialists Joel Danko and Charlene Dumas. The tours will explore trails and point out seasonal changes, animal tracks and more. Binoculars and guide books are available to use.
Leisurely hikes will be about mile and a half on gentle terrain. If there is enough snow, snowshoes will be available to rent for $4; no experience is necessary. A small number of cross-country ski sets can also be rented for $4. Participants are asked to pre-register by calling 705-5022 or emailing ncrebirth@yahoo.com.
On Sundays, Jan. 8, 15 and 22, and Saturdays Jan. 14 and 28, hikes will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. and 2 to 3 p.m.
