CANTON -- Guest speaker Jin Y. Park, who specializes in Buddhist philosophy, will present “Women and Buddhist Philosophy” at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 1, in Carnegie Hall room 10.
The event is open to the public.
Park is an associate professor in the Department of Philosophy and Religion at American University in Washington D.C.
His research in Buddhism focuses on the Zen and Huayan schools of East Asian Buddhism on language, violence, and ethics.
The lecture is sponsored by St. Lawrence’s “Crossing Boundaries” interdisciplinary humanities project made possible by a grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
The lecture is part of the “Paths to the Buddha” project of courses.
