CANTON -- Janna Stieg Watkins, executive director of the New York Chapter of Interfaith Power and Light, will be the guest speaker at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Canton, 3 ½ East Main St., Oct. 27. At 10:30 a.m.
Watkins will give a sermon, “Climate Change: How Can We Act as Stewards?” in which she will speak about care of creation as expressed in world faith traditions and focus on the critical need for a religious response to the challenge of climate change.
Watkins’s visit is part of the “Green Sanctuary” Program of the church, which is an ongoing effort to raise consciousness and take tangible steps to lessen our impact on the environment.
