CANTON -- The Grasse River Players will present a murder mystery theater event at The TAUNY Center, 53 Main St., Sunday, Oct. 1, at 2 p.m.
The play, written by Art Johnson, is “The Ghost Train Mystery: Murder Rides the Line.”
The event is a benefit for TAUNY, Traditional Arts in Upstate New York. Funds raised from ticket sales will support TAUNY’s ongoing programs in the North Country.
After the first act, attendees will have the chance to vote on the identity of the murderer, with prizes for those who guess correctly. Tickets are $35 and include both savory and sweet refreshments and beverages with an autumn theme.
The production features Grasse River Players members Jennifer Blewitt, Derrick Conway, Morgan Hastings, George Spelvin, Jennifer Berbrich, Karen Wells, Elaine Kuracina and Esther Katz.
“The Grasse River Players have a huge following for these murder mystery events,” said TAUNY Board President Jackie Sauter. “It’s going to be a very entertaining afternoon with great food for a great cause, and we’re hoping everyone will come out and show their support and be part of the fun.”
Tickets are available at TAUNY’s North Country Folkstore, and also from TAUNY board members. Only 50 tickets will be sold, so advance purchase is recommended.
