CANTON -- The Grasse River Players (GRP) will host a theater makeup workshop with professional makeup artist Cynthia Davis on Saturday, Feb. 6, from 1 until 2:30 p.m. at the Canton Free Library, 8 Park St.
Davis, who did the makeup for the Snuggies commercials and worked at Horsefeather Haunts this past season, will teach participants how to create an aging face for theater and film.
The cost is $3 for supplies.
Cynthia majored in design and technical theatre at the University of Rhodes Island and also earned a certificate is makeup artistry at Elegance Academy in Los Angeles. As a freelance artist, she has made and applied wigs, done special effects makeup, worked in children's theatre and created masks.
The event is being held in conjunction with the GRP production of “Spirit Whisperers on the Grass” which hits the stage Feb. 12 and 7 p.m. and Feb. 13 at 3 and 7 p.m. at Sykes Hall, St. Lawrence University.
