LISBON -- The Grace Presbyterian Church, Route 10, will celebrate its 55th anniversary with a guest service Sunday, Nov. 3.
Founding pastor J. Peter Vosteen will return for guest sermons at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Vosteen will also offer anniversary discussions at 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
Vosteen moved to Lisbon in 1956 as the minister of the Lisbon United Presbyterian Church. He was pastor until Nov. 1958, when the church was formed as an orthodox Presbyterian congregation after the merfer of the United Presbyterian Church of North America and the Presbyterian Church, USA.
Charter members Frances A. Putney, Lisbon, and Virginia M. Dodds, Ogdensburg, remain active in the church.
The current pastor, Patrick R. Severson, began his pastorate in Lisbon in 2009.
