Local music duo Big Papa and Margarita Mike will be joined by a drummer who has performed on a national stage.
Gouverneur native Austin Curcuruto will cover percussion for the duo as they embark on their “Beaches and Boomers Tour.”
He will be with them July 20 at the Madrid Concert in the Park from 6 to 8 p.m. and July 22 at Nadeau’s in Massena from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Curcuruto has toured with Bo Bice, American Idol season four runner-up to Carrie Underwood. For the last three years, he has been tour drummer for Craig Campbell. Curcurato has performed with opening acts for rock greats including Styx, REO Speedwagon and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
In 2010, he was named runner up for Up and Coming Drummer of 2010 by Modern Drummer readers.
