GOUVERNEUR — The Gouverneur High School Athletic Wall of Fame Committee has announced its Wall of Fame Induction Class of 2017.
Inductees include: track and soccer athlete Kerry Kennedy, class of 1984; track athlete Alisa Newvine, class of 1991; football and wrestling athlete David Perrigo, class of 2007; the undefeated 1961 and 1962 football teams coached by Frank LaFalce; the 1993-94 boy’s basketball team coached by George Gordon and the 2005 NYS Class B Final Four baseball team coached by Mike Bason.
The individual athletes and teams will be inducted on Saturday, Sept. 23, in the Gouverneur Central School High School auditorium at 6 p.m. Anyone is welcome to attend.
The ceremony coincided with Gouverneur Central’s homecoming weekend.
On Friday at 4:30 p.m. the juniors versus seniors Girls Powder Puff Touch Football game will be played at the high school field.
Saturday morning’s festivities kick off with a 10 a.m. contest between the junior varsity football team and St. Lawrence Central. The varsity team will play the Larries at 1:10 p.m.
