Giant pumpkin planting workshops are planned in Gouverneur and Canton April 16

Join Christine Erdman and Lyle Hotis, expert giant pumpkin growers, and Paul Hetzler, Cornell Cooperative Extension Horticulture Educator, to learn how to successfully produce a monster pumpkin. Participants will learn about soil requirements, seed preparation, growing techniques, and disease & insect control. Everyone will go home with giant pumpkin seeds and a container of potting mix.

Choose from two times and locations on April 16: Gouverneur fairgrounds from 9 to 11 a.m. or in Canton at the Cornell Cooperative Extension farm from 1 to 3 p.m.

Registration for Gouverneur is required by calling Lyle Hotis at 276-5199. For Canton, call Paul Hetzler at 379-9192.
