GOUVERNEUR -- The “Giant Pumpkin Festival” will be held at the Gouverneur Fairgrounds Sept 28-29 at 10 a.m. and will feature large pumpkins being dropped from a crane.
Activities will include a bouncy house, kids games, vendors, wagon rides, and a chicken barbeque.
Adult and youth will be judged with the top three sizes in each winning prizes.
The weigh off will be Sunday. Last year's winner was 942 pounds.
On both days at 3 p.m. a crane will drop a giant pumpkin filled with numbered golf balls, the person with the number that goes the farthest wins a prize.
