POTSDAM -- Gardenshare will introduce their new director at a dinner planned for Nov. 6 at the 1844 House, 6885 U.S. Highway 11.
Gloria McAdam will be introduced as the new director at the organization’s annual fundraiser.
McAdam, originally from Gouverneur and a St. Lawrence University graduate, has been the director of Foodshare in Hartford, CT, for 30 years. She will officially begin her new position at GardenShare on Jan. 5, 2015, but will be in the North Country doing transition work the first week of November.
In addition to being a first opportunity to meet McAdam, the dinner offers guests the chance to enjoy a locally sourced dinner and learn more and talk with others about GardenShare's efforts to make healthy, sustainable food choices accessible to everyone in our community. A selection of works by Gary Pierce of Chipman Woodworks will be on hand for raffle and purchase, with proceeds to benefit GardenShare.
Tickets for the dinner are $85 per person ($45 is a tax-deductible contribution) and can be reserved at www.gardenshare.org or by calling 261-8054 by Nov. 3.
The cash bar opens at 5:30 and dinner begins at 6:30
