GOUVERNEUR -- On March 18, Rachel Royce, a single mom of a local 12-year-old girl suddenly died from surgery complications.
The Royce family is having two fundraising events April 22 for her daughter, Shyanne. Proceeds raised will go into a trust fund to help with financial expenses.
From 10 a.m.-4 p.m., there will be a Family Fun Day fundraiser at the Gouverneur community center, 4673 State Highway 58.
The event will feature music, vendors, hot dogs and hamburgers, carnival games, a stuffable animal workshop, live characters, face painting, DJ CSM, The Next Generation, over 30 vendors and crafters, Buck Ridge and Constance Carvings chainsaw carvers, raffles, silent auctions and more.
