MASSENA -- The Friends of the Robert Moses State Park Nature Center will host a monthly Organic Art BOCES continuing education class. The series will teach students to use organic materials provided by nature for products used in art, crafts and beauty products.
Classes will be held on the third Saturday of each month from 1 to 3 p.m. beginning Jan. 19.
The programs will be held at the Massena Public Library in the downstairs BOCES room.
Participants must register in advance by contacing BOCES continuing education at 1-888-360-7693, the Nature Center at 705-5022 or ncrebirth@yahoo.com.
Topics will include:
• Jan. 19 – More natural beauty products; lotions, face masks and muds out of clay, essential oils and other natural products. $8 fee.
• Feb. 16 – Learn to needle felt using dyed wool. $8 fee.
• Mar. 16 – Make a decorative Jute-wrapped bottle. $8 fee.
• Apr. 20 – Decorate a natural birdhouse using dried gourds from the garden. $12 fee.
• May 18 – Make your own cards and invitations; print making using natural materials. $8 fee.
• June 15 – Discover the art of Flower pounding to make bookmarks and more. $8 fee.
