POTSDAM -- The Friends of Potsdam Humane Society will host an open house at the shelter, 17 Madrid Ave., 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19.
Learn about the shelter’s work over light snacks.
In addition to food and shelter for stray animals, the shelter also provides education and support.
“We are blessed to have a no-kill shelter here,” says Kelly Johnson-Eilola, a member of the Friends group. “Without the staff, volunteers, and the whole community, PHS would not be able to offer food, housing, and playtime in an environment of love.”
Volunteer activities include making posters, mowing grass, hosting a fundraiser, and petting the animals.
