MASSENA – SeaComm is offering free tax preparation for low and moderate-income working individuals and families.
Free tax preparation will be offered:
• Feb. 9 at SeaComm’s main office 8-11:30 a.m.
• Feb. 9 at SeaComm’s Malone branch 1-5 p.m.
• Feb. 23 at SeaComm’s Canton 8 a.m.-noon.
• Feb. 23 at SeaComm’s Potsdam branch 1-5 p.m.
• Feb. 23 at SeaComm’s Ogdensburg branch noon-4 p.m.
• March 2 at SeaComm’s Plattsburgh branch 1-4 p.m.
The free service is a partnership between the bank, Akwesasne and Potsdam VITA sites, the Canton AARP site, the SUNY Canton Financial Literacy Center and the IRS, said a SeaComm press release.
IRS trained volunteers will be on hand to prepare returns for eligible workers.
Financial service representatives from the credit union will be available to open accounts for individuals without an account and possibly provide loans for those who need their refund in a hurry.
Appointments are required, as walk-ins will not be allowed.
