MASSENA -- The Masonic Lodge hosts a free safety ID event at the Massena Chamber of Commerce-Kiwanis Easter Egg Hunt 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 31, at the Massena Community Center on Beach Street.
Parents will complete a short questionnaire and sign a permission slip, and get a CD-ROM of information, including fingerprints and photos of their child, a laminated ID card, and a printout. All information is given to the parents; only permission slips are retained.
The New York Masonic Safety Identification Program is an attempt to address the fact that many children, students, and adults are reported missing in the United States each year. The masons are urging families to keep this important, updateable information in a safe place, and take it along when traveling with your children. This information can aid in the safe recovery of a lost or missing child.
This program is free.
For more information and an advance questionnaire and permission slip, contact District Chairman John Schneider, NY Masonic Safety Identification Program, at 250-1765 or jschneider2@twcny.rr.com.
Permission slips are also available online at http://mastermason.com/stlawrencefreemason/forms.html.
