CANTON—A free "Oneness Meditation," featuring a blessing experience with Doug Bentley, an American monk from the Oneness University in India, will take place 7 p.m. April 24 at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 3 1/2 East Main St.

During similar events, audience members sometimes experience shifts in energy, expanded consciousness, laughter and communion with their Divine, according to organizers. No beliefs, teachings or philosophies are required or will be taught at the non-sectarian spiritual event.

Pre-registration is recommended by visiting northcountryoneness.eventbrite.com or contacting Jody Wallace at 386-3725. For a complete schedule of Bentley's Oneness Meditation Tour, visit www.onenessmeditation.org.

Since 1989, the Oneness University has been supporting the growth in consciousness of people from all faiths and walks of life through the sharing of the Oneness Blessing or Deeksha. Over 100 million people worldwide have been touched by the Blessing, and it is one of the fastest growing spiritual phenomena in the world today, organizers say.
