Free income tax preparation with electronic filing will be offered throughout the North Country by the AARP Tax-Aide program and is available to all low to middle income persons.
Volunteer counselors are IRS-trained and certified to handle special credits such as Child Tax Credit, Dependent Care Credits, Earned Income Credit, Education Credits, and NYS Real Property Tax Credits. Participants should bring all forms showing income received for the year 2013, photo ID and social security proof. If possible, bring last year's tax return.
The following are the dates and times for the sessions:
Mondays and Tuesdays from 8:30 a.m. through 12:30 p.m. Jan. 27 through April 15 at the community center, Beach Street, Massena.
Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 1 through April 15 at Mid-town Apartments, Munson Street, Potsdam.
Walk-ins can go on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus on Miner Street, Canton
