MASSENA – There will be a free household hazardous waste collection Sept. 16, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., at the Louisville town highway garage, 14810 State Highway 37.
The following materials will be accepted: solvents, pesticides, vehicle fluids (no motor oil), flourescent light tubes, adhesives, epoxy resins, polishes and waxes, antifreeze, pool chemicals, photography chemicals, household cleaning products, driveway sealers, wood preservatives, corrosives, home chemistry sets, aerosol cans containing product, products containing mercury (no thermostats) and oil-based paints (no latex paint).
The event is sponsored by the Development Authority of the North Country, St. Lawrence County and the state Department of Environmental Conservation.
