MASSENA -- The New York Power Authority will continue free Friday matinees in the new year with showings of contemporary movies at the admission-free Hawkins Point Visitors Center.
All movies are shown at 1:30 p.m. in the visitor’s center auditorium. Free popcorn will be available.
The January schedule is:
• Jan. 4: “Hope Springs” (2012). After thirty years of marriage, a middle-aged couple attends an intense, week-long counseling session to work on their relationship.
• Jan. 11: “Seven Days in Utopia” (2011). After a disastrous debut on the pro circuit, a young golfer finds himself unexpectedly stranded in Utopia, Texas and welcomed by an eccentric rancher.
• Jan. 18: “Courageous” (2011). When a tragedy strikes close to home, four police officers struggle with their faith and their roles as husbands and fathers; together they make a decision that will change all of their lives.
• Jan. 25: “Trouble with the Curve” (2012). An ailing baseball scout in his twilight years takes his daughter along for one last recruiting trip.
