MASSENA -- The New York Power Authority will hold free Friday matinees of contemporary movies during May at the Hawkins Point Visitors Center. Movies will be shown at 1:30 p.m. in the visitor’s center auditorium. Free popcorn will be served. The movie schedule follows:
• May 3 “Wild Hearts Can’t Be Broken” - After she joins a traveling show in the 1930s, Sonora eventually learns to ride a horse off of a 40-foot-high diving board into a tank of water.
• May 10 “Gifted Hands” - Cuba Gooding Jr. stars in the true story of a renowned brain surgeon who overcame obstacles and changed the course of medicine forever.
• May 17 “Puppy Love” - A single mother adopts a dog from the pound only to find out that his former owner wants him back.
• May 24 “The Makeover” - Hannah Higgins attempts to turn Boston beer vendor Elliot Doolittle into a candidate and inadvertently learns something about Elliot's side of life.
• May 31 “Scents and Sensibility” - Sisters Elinor and Marianne look for ways to pay the bills after they find themselves penniless.
